If I had a nickel
I wouldn't need any more
I wouldn't be so fickle with you all
I wouldn't be a whore
No, I wouldn't be a whore
If I had a nickel
I'd still want for more
Diamonds and rings are not my kinds of things
So why do I still find them in all of my dreams?
Do I have a problem? Is there something wrong?
Or am I just a poor boy wanting to be known?
I can see the exit now, it's oh so far away
So I think I'll try it on some other day
But now I'm getting older
And now I've gotten old
I realize all the things I sold
Were pieces of my soul
So if I had a nickel
I'd trade it for a dime
And give away all my money
So I could save up all my time
I wouldn't be a whore
No, I wouldn't be a whore
If I had a nickel
I wouldn't want any more

Abortion Updated
One of the first things I ever posted on this blog was my ideas on abortion since, at the time, it was a pretty raw issue for me with what was happening at the time in my life. However after re-reading it I've realised it wasn't really what I thought and, to be honest, was an example of how crappily I used to write.
So with that in mind I'll dive right in and say I agree with abortion, but not for the reasons some would think.
When this "battle" is boiled down, it comes to a choice of freedom. Even if you disagree with abortion, by trying to stop it from happening you're effectively trying to control another person's life which, in simple words, you nor anyone else has any fucking right to do. Control is the opposite of freedom and especially in countries like America, where freedom is so highly praised, to even have discussions where you're allowed to take it away is incredible and is the reason why those kinds of losers will never get their ideas accepted. It's the same basic principle that comes up when trying to censor the internet, but that's for another time.
If everyone tried sticking to their own business, the world would be a better place. Freedom is a basic human right, something that a lot of us would fight to the death for and the moment that starts to get taken away is the moment the world ends, because those of us that would will rise up and fight this sort of oppression.

Justin Bieber?
As a struggling musician, it's tough to take when something like this comes along. It isn't fair for anyone to put effort into something, only to watch a talentless little kid getting used as a cash cow take up any chance you had of making it (not that most of us are aiming for his market, but still). I think we'll be feeling sorry for him in the long run, as unless he's neutered his "voice" will fade the moment he drops out of whatever weird puberty he's currently going through and he'll likely fall on his ass after getting used to and expecting to live in luxury for the rest of his life.
Saying that, I think this shows how pathetic society has grown. I know there's a phase in every girls life when they're this annoying, but when people will use a kid to capitalize on this, well, 2012 can't come fast enough. And as much as people want to complain and bitch about him, what you ought to do is look inside yourselves. Go out and do something proactive rather then wasting the time on what you yourselves say amounts to a pile of shit. Its people like him, and those that use him, that drag this society down. The only way to escape it is to ignore it completely and maybe, just maybe, go out and support your local bands.
Because if you can find someone with real talent, chances are they'll get somewhere and stay there. But Bieber, and those that came before (Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, etc), are rockets; they'll soar high for sure and higher then they probably should, but they'll run out of fuel eventually and either burn up coming back down or just fade away into the ether. So remember that the next time you imagine punching Bieber in the face.
P.S. Dear Ms Bieber
If you haven't realised, you are whoring out your son for money. By doing this you're more then likely destroying any chance he will ever have of a normal life but you seem to be having fun doing it. So congratulations on all your success and I hope he makes enough money for you to retire somewhere nice (your plan all along I'm guessing).
Forever yours,
Shangrila

Anarchism
I thought I might clarify what anarchism is to me, so that people aren't confused by it anymore.
Most people know anarchy as the word used by the government to associate with evil or chaos. This is horribly inaccurant and shows the length that people in power will bend things to suit themselves (I'm looking at you vatican). Anyway, the reason it all came out this way is because the government believes that anarchy is evil and in a way, it is I guess. But the only people that have to worry about it are the people in power and that's why they associate with all the bad things in the world.
In truth anarchism is more a belief then a revolution. It stems from the principle that absolute power corrupts absolutely, so nobody should have absolute power. Isn't seeming as bad anymore is it?
It's not communism either as some have tried to link it to in the past. Communism is the system of government where everyone is equal, no matter what job they do or how much work they do. That's the main reason it falls on it's ass since why would you work hard if you get paid the exact same as the guy beside you who does nothing?
What even more people don't realise is the principles of anarchism are seen in every day life. Every neighbourhood watch, every AA meeting is an example of people banding together and doing things without the help of the government. Anarchism, in it's simplest form, believes in the sharing of power and in an almost communal existence with those around.
This, atleast to me, is a romantic view of life. We all know that there won't be a time when people live like that and even if there was it wouldn't be long until someone came around to establish his dominance. But sometimes it's good to have dreams about the way the world should be, because at the end of the day it's the only thing that stops the world slipping into what it wants to be.
